Meet fatma: your guide to greek wines
Born in Antalya Türkiye,raised along the warm Mediterranean coast, my journey with wine began long before I understood it.
After graduating from Dokuz Eylül University in Izmir — known as Smyrni — I chose a path that would shape my global perspective.
I moved to the United States and joined a cruise ship, stepping into a multicultural world at sea.
For six years, I traveled across continents while serving carefully curated wine menus to guests from around the world.
On board, wine was not just a beverage —
it was precision, structure, pairing, elegance.
Working within one of the most structured wine programs at sea, I developed discipline in service, confidence in presentation, and a deep appreciation for terroir.
In 2020, I choosed to anchor my life in Athens.
Education:
I immersed myself in Greek wine, culture formally educating myself through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET Level 3) and with the Court of Master Sommeliers while ı am raising my kids .
But beyond certifications, I studied vineyards, producers, indigenous varieties, and the depth of Greek identity through wine.
From the structured elegance of Agiorgitiko in Nemea to the dynamic modern wine scene of Athens, my focus became clear:

Antalya’da doğdum, sıcak Akdeniz kıyılarında büyüdüm. Şarapla olan yolculuğum, onu gerçekten anlamadan çok önce başladı.
İzmir’deki Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi’nden mezun olduktan sonra — tarihsel adıyla Smyrni — hayatımın küresel bakış açısını şekillendirecek bir yol seçtim.
Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’ne taşındım ve bir cruise gemisinde çalışmaya başladım. Böylece denizde çok kültürlü bir dünyanın içine adım attım.
Altı yıl boyunca, dünyanın dört bir yanından gelen misafirlere özenle hazırlanmış şarap menülerini sunarken kıtalar arasında seyahat ettim.
Gemide şarap sadece bir içecek değildi —
o; hassasiyet, yapı, eşleşme ve zarafetti.
Denizdeki en sistemli şarap programlarından birinin içinde çalışarak servis disiplinini, sunumda özgüveni ve terroir kavramına duyduğum derin saygıyı geliştirdim.

2020 yılında hayatımı Atina’da kurmaya karar verdim.
Eğitim:
Çocuklarımı büyütürken aynı zamanda Yunan şarabı, kültürü üzerine yoğunlaştım. Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET Level 3) programı ve Court of Master Sommeliers’in eğitimleri aracılığıyla kendimi akademik olarak geliştirdim.
Ancak sertifikaların ötesinde; bağları, üreticileri, yerel üzüm çeşitlerini ve şarap aracılığıyla Yunan kimliğinin derinliğini de inceledim.
Nemea’daki Agiorgitiko’nun zarafetinden Atina’nın dinamik modern şarap sahnesine kadar odağım netleşti.

My vision is to act as a bridge between cultures, using my knowledge and profound passion for wine as my guiding principle. I believe that wine is a universal language, capable of uniting people and creating unforgettable memories.
